Two Bills Introduced on Behalf of Local Public Health

HB 627, introduced by Rep. Schmidt in late April to give LHDs oversight of water quality on aquatic rides, was referred to the House Agriculture Committee this week.  AOHC hopes for hearings before the end of the legislative session, and will begin outreach to committee members. 

SB 338, was introduced by Senator Lang to revise food program survey process, introduced by Senator Lang, at the request of OEHA.  The proposal moves the food survey process to a test-based approach, as opposed to field surveys, in the situation where a dual survey is indicated.
