The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, has a full-time opening for a Dietitian to work in both clinical and community settings. This position works within the Women, Infants, and Children’s (WIC) clinic and with community-based education and outreach.

Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develops nutrition education materials and classroom presentations. Presents nutrition education classes.

• Promotes breastfeeding, provides breastfeeding education, and refers participants appropriately for additional breastfeeding assistance as needed.
• Remains current on adolescent health issues including nutrition, physical activity, and obesity prevention
• Conduct nutritional assessment to determine nutritional needs and to recommend appropriate nutritional intake, including enteral and parenteral nutrition
• Conduct nutritional counseling or education as components of preventive, curative, and restorative health care
• Development, administration, evaluation, and consultation regarding nutritional care standards
• Within WIC clinic, follow WIC policy and guidelines.
• Keeps current with technological advances and workplace innovations that support job functions.

Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience Needs:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics
• Maintenance of 75 CPEU’s within 5 year period to maintain certification as a Registered Dietitian
• Certification as a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian eligible with examination pending in 6 months or less
• Current licensure with the State Medical Board of Ohio
