Business Services Officer

The Galion City Board of Health is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Business Services Officer.  This full-time position is for 40 hours per week.  The usual shift is Mon-Fri from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:

The Business Services Officer, under the direction of the Health Commissioner, serves as the focal point for all financial activities of the Galion City Health Department.  The Business Services Officer develops, supervises, and executes all monetary policies and procedures of the agency, including but not limited to:  general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants accounting, budget preparation, and other policies as required. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable in accounting.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, customer service and inter-office communication skills with the ability to learn new information quickly.
• Valid state of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and insurance.
• Basic computer literacy (email, internet, Microsoft Office Suite - especially Excel), databases, accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of public health.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Two (2) years of government accounting or related financial responsibilities.
