WIC Public Health Nutritionist

HOURS:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
7:30 am-4:00 p.m. Monday- Friday
(4-day work week may be considered after employee training period)
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
PAY RANGE:
Pay Grade 6 ($25.09-$34.28 hourly) with full WCHD Benefits
Starting Pay is Commensurate with applicable experience
POSTING PERIOD:
A minimum of 7 calendar days from posting date
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition/dietetics program. Must be licensed through the Ohio Board of Dietetics and be a Registered Dietitian through the Ohio Commission of Dietetic Registration. Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must have dependable transportation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
Good oral and written communication skills; Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations; first aid practices; medical technology; personal hygiene; community resources and services; basic office practices including computer skills; English grammar and spelling; records management; human relations; counseling; interviewing; sociology; nutrition; public relations; case management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the WIC Director; responsible for conducting nutritional and dietary interviews of clients; collects and interprets medical and anthropometric data on potential clients, including HemoCue test; determines eligibility of potential clients; provides direct/in depth nutrition counseling; develops nutrition care plan; educates clients on nutrition care plan.
