Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Environmental Health Director, this individual will plan, organize, and conduct sewage and water inspections, contact operators to schedule inspections, performs inspections to ensure compliance with all environmental health regulations and documents findings in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, follows up on violations to ensure compliance, prepares reports, maintain accurate files, assist in preparation of legal or administrative documents, collect field samples etc. This individual may also work in the rabies program and perform mobile home park inspections.
Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics:
Must have a current certificate of registration as an Environmental Health Specialist-in-Training in the State of Ohio, or EHSIT eligible having obtained a bachelor’s degree including 45 quarter units or thirty semester units of approvable science courses.
Must have a valid State of Ohio driver's license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening including medical marijuana.
Self-starter with ability to organize, schedule and complete assigned work, team player willing to assist co-workers in completion of assignments, ability to work well with the public.
Proficient in Excel and ARG-GIS preferred..
Salary Range:
$19.79 - $29.38 hr.- Range depends upon experience and education
