RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Finance

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for billings to Medicare, Medicaid (including Medicaid Managed Care Organizations), BCMH, private insurance companies and to organizations or individuals responsible for payment of services rendered to clients of Mahoning County Public Health. Must develop and maintain accounts receivable system that generates accurate, timely and meaningful data. Also responsible for general clerical duties including, but not limited to, receiving fees from clients and issuance of receipts and related documents, and general word processing/typing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for billings to Medicare, Medicaid (including Medicaid HMO’s), BCMH, private insurance companies and to organizations or individuals responsible for payment of services rendered to clients of Mahoning County Public Health.

2. Responsible for compliance with federal guidelines for medical billing and contract maintenance with private insurance companies and Medicaid HMO’s. Also, must stay updated on CPT and ICD medical coding systems.

3. Work with grants fiscal manager in required reporting of state and federal assistance programs.

4. Serve on relevant local community and interagency committees. E.g., participates with management and staff for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Strategic Planning, and Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) committees.

5. Receive fees from clients and issue receipts and related documents.

6. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a minimum of one year of experience in processing medical claims with Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance companies.. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently. Valid driver’s license.
