NURSING DIRECTOR – CLINTON COUNTY HEALTH DISTRICT (POSTED 5/24/2024)

Full-Time Nursing Director position available, 32-40 hours/week. Salary ranges $31-33 per hour; contingent on qualifications and experience. Fringes include PERS, Mandatory Medicare, Workers Compensation, paid vacation and sick leave after probationary period.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be licensed registered nurse pursuant to Section 4723.01 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bachelor level degree preferred. A valid Ohio driver’s license with ongoing proof of auto insurance. Current CPR certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working Knowledge of Microsoft software; ability to learn agency software programs. Ability to operate various office equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a variety of public health nursing services within the Clinton County community such as:
- Reports directly to the Health Commissioner/Director of Administration.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, and local standards/requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, OAC, ORC, OSHA, PHAB, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Works collaboratively with Leadership Team and supports other divisions with community activities, health initiatives, public awareness activities, disease investigations and control, policy development, facility and strategic planning and preparedness planning.
- Oversee program activities related to communicable disease, Children for Medical Handicaps program, immunizations, and other programs areas.
- Assists with the determination of needs, developing systems, planning services, setting objectives, managing policies/procedures for program, and recommending program development and expansion for nursing program/unit with dedication to continuous quality improvement.
- Assists in collaborative activities with appropriate leadership and external community partners to maintain and expand operations.
- Works in conjunction with the Health Commissioner/Director of Administration to develop and implement recruitment, interviewing, orientation, and workforce development solutions to ensure hiring and retention of qualified individuals.
- Assures employees receive appropriate and timely performance appraisals, including goals related to the strategic initiatives of the agency.
- Development of program/unit budget in coordination with the Health Commissioner/Director of Administration, Business Manager and Fiscal Clerk, monitoring fiscal status, ensuring fiscal soundness.
- Research availability and application for grants, monitoring programming and conducting program evaluations.
- Coordinate with local educational institutions to provide students with public health related field and clinical experiences.
- Completion of other tasks as assigned by Health Commissioner/Director of Administration.
- Expected to respond to threats to the public’s health in accordance with Clinton County Emergency Response plans.
