Position: Public Health Nurse II

Minimum Qualifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio; Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university required. A minimum of two years of nursing experience or six months or more experience in Public Health preferred. Valid Ohio driver’s license.

Summary of Essential Duties: Under the direction and supervision of the Nursing Director, this position will provide program coordination for the nursing division’s immunization program and Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) program.

The PHN will provide program coordination for the immunization program which involves: Scheduling and organizing immunization clinics, maintain and updating immunization policies as needed, ordering and monitoring vaccines, providing children and traveler immunizations, and maintaining clinical data. Additional activities include the “Get Vaccinated” grant duties such as educating local health care providers/school, monitoring immunization rates and data for the community and updating and training health department nursing staff. CRI duties will include implementing various emergency preparedness response drills and other emergency response activities in coordination with the Emergency Preparedness Planner.
