Days of Work: Monday - Friday

Occasional evening/weekend if needed

The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, has a full time opening for a Community Relations Specialist (CRS). The CRS coordinates community outreach and events. Plan, coordinate and conduct speaking engagements in the community and at the agency. Write and proof articles and press releases for local media and newsletters. Acts as the agency Public Information Officer (PIO). Maintains relationships with local media and community; assists with mass email communication system. Participates in local coalitions, representing the agency.

Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Write articles, press releases, and develop newspaper ads
Develop content for the monthly Community Newsletter
Plan, coordinate, and assist with attending community events
Assist with internal processes, planning, registration, and paperwork associated with community events and advertisements
Develop and foster media relations, monitor media, and coordinate response to media inquiries
Create and assist with communication and marketing products such as talking points, flyers, presentations, and mass media communications

Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience Needs:

Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Health Education or Public Relations
Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, public relations, or community health education required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
