NOW HIRING: Environmental Health Division Manager
The Environmental Health Division Manager (Registered Sanitarian IV) of Food & School Safety is responsible for administering the programs and leading the work activities of the Food & School Safety sections within the Environmental Health Division. This position sets and monitors section goals and assures coordination and evaluation of services to ensure quality.
Duties Include:
- Represents the agency at community programs and with other community, state, and regulating agencies to conduct routine business.
- Supervision and review of individual and team performance in alignment with FCPH mission and goals. Provides direct and indirect supervision, coaching, and oversight to direct and indirect staff with performance evaluations, mentoring and discipline. Leads candidate reviewing, interviewing and providing hiring recommendations.
- Manages resource planning, budgetary review, and resource allocations. Leads the division workforce training and development initiatives, research review processes, and related initiatives.
- Assists with monitoring and approving expenditures; contributes to budget preparation and forecasting. Oversees cost methodology for Environmental Health Programs. Assists with developing and implementing controls for adhering to priority based budgeting.
- Organizational Leadership through maintenance and promotion of an inclusive and professional working environment. Responsible for downstream communication and alignment with FCPH goals, mission, and leadership objectives. Leads organizational change management for division.
- Implements changes in staffing patterns to meet shifts in workload and environmental health needs. Participates in agency strategic planning process. Operationalizes strategic goals and objectives. Administers enforcement process for assigned Sections.
- Performs public health emergency response duties as assigned and consistent with job classification and training provided, in response to threats to the public’s health. Participates in Department and community emergency response training and drills in support of disaster preparedness consistent with job classification.
- Participates in quality improvement efforts. This position will be responsible for using quality improvement (QI) processes and/or techniques to improve the effectiveness of the assigned public health program.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, as approved in OAC 4736-8-01 (Master’s degree preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in the practice of environmental health within a public health agency.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Registered Sanitarian with the state of Ohio.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements.
- Other certifications as required and/or needed (e.g., Certified Pool Operator, Licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator, ServSafe Certified, etc.).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, and be insurable through FCPH’s provider; some evening and weekend hours required.
- Non-smoker.
Hiring Salary: $31.00/hour - $38.75/hour. This is an exempt position.
