POSITION OVERVIEW
The Certifying Health Professional (CHP) is a member of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) team. WIC is a public health nutrition program that supports families by providing nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare providers and other social services. The CHP is responsible for conducting WIC certifications including nutrition assessments and education as well as breastfeeding education and support to participants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAssists with WIC certification and direct nutrition services to participants;

 

MINIMUM CREDENTIALS/EDUCATION

 Must possess one of the following minimum credentials/education:

*Preference will be given to currently Registered Dietitians licensed in the State of Ohio.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Knowledge of the principles and practices of public health and public health education

  

Final candidates must successfully pass a background check and provide proof of a valid State of Ohio driver’s license as well as current automobile insurance.

An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.
