Position: Registered Dietitian

Richland County & Ashland County Offices

Pay Grade: 21

Salary: $ 26.88 per hour as of 12-13-2023 (22.5 hours per week)
$27.53 per hour as of 01-04-2024 (22.5 hours per week)

Shift Times: Mon, Tues, Thurs (8:00am to 4:30pm) Wednesday (10:00am to 6:30pm) Friday (8:00am to 4:00pm). May include evening and Saturday clinics. Schedule to be determined.

General Statement of Duties:

Promotes, develops and implements nutrition education programs with goals, objectives, methods/materials and evaluation tools.
Nutritionally assesses and counsels patients in both individual and group sessions for WIC program.
Certifies participants for WIC as per State policies; provides appropriate nutrition education for WIC participants; charts individual counseling; performs anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin testing as per WIC policy; charts all other nutrition related counseling.
Prescribes types and amounts of food for WIC participants; signs WIC documents for patient charts.
Serves as nutrition resource person for Health Department staff and other area health professionals.
Can provide nutrition education classes on specially requested topics.
Knowledge of public relations; training and development; dietetics and nutrition; federal and state WIC standards. Knowledge and implementation of appropriate counseling techniques.
Must be able to learn WIC software and perform WIC computer functions.
Must be an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) registered dietitian and be licensed by the Ohio Board of Dietetics.
