Wage: Hourly, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, has a full-time career opportunity for a Human Resource Specialist. This position performs recruitment, on/off boarding, benefits, new employee orientations, personnel files, and HR program administration activities. Develops and makes HR presentations to staff on assigned topics.

General Qualifications (including but not limited to):
High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of verifiable HR experience required. Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred.

Essential Functions of the Position include but are not limited to:

• Assists in the administration of Federal and State mandated programs, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.
• Performs monthly insurance billing audit/verification, answer employee questions concerning health insurance coverage and works to resolve conflicts between employee and benefit companies.
• Assists in the administration of the Employee Wellness Program, implementation of the Work Force Development Plan, and the agency safety program and required injury reporting.
• Responsible for tracking employee professional license requirements, employee performance evaluations and health care provider credentialing/re-credentialing.
• Conducts recruitment activities through appropriate job forums, performs preliminary applicant screening, and performs reference checks/verifications in accordance with agency policies
• Assists in the review of job descriptions and Employee Classification Schedule.
