Sanitarian-in-Training or Registered Sanitarian I/II

Franklin County Public Health

The Sanitarian-in-Training or Registered Sanitarian is responsible for inspecting, investigating and enforcing Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio Revised Code and/or Franklin County District Board of Health Sanitary Regulations pertaining to food service operations, retail food establishments, and schools.

Duties Include:
• This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.
• Performs inspections, re-inspections and investigations according to standardized procedures
and prepares reports which determine compliance with state and local codes and regulations for Environmental Health programs under the supervision of a Registered Sanitarian
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Must be a Sanitarian-In-Training or Registered Sanitarian with the State of Ohio;
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, as approved in OAC 4736-8-01;
• Knowledge of Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code;
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements; some evening and weekend hours required; and
• Non-smoker.

Hiring Salary:
• $19.24 - $24.06/hour for Sanitarian-in-Training;
• $21.17-$26.46/hour for Registered Sanitarian I;
• $23.28-$29.11/hour for Registered Sanitarian II; and
• This is a non-exempt position.
