Senior Level Health Officials in LHDs Needed to Serve as PHAB Site Visitors
The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) has extended the deadline for senior level health officials in state and LHDs to submit an application to serve as a site visitor for the accreditation beta test. This deadline applies only to senior level health officials as PHAB seeks to increase the applicant pool in this area. The deadline to apply is February 5, 2010. NACCHO encourages you to take advantage of this opportunity to participate in PHAB's beta test by sharing your expertise and time! The beta test is a means for PHAB to fully test the program elements of accreditation and identify areas to improve in advance of the program's launch in 2011.
The application only takes a few minutes to complete. Serving as a site visitor is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the accreditation program; understand what your agency can do to prepare for accreditation; learn about processes and practices that work well in other health departments; network with peers; and provide feedback to health departments participating in the beta test.
