NACCHO Releases Advocacy Training Video

At NACCHO Annual 2018, NACCHO launched a new advocacy training video "Taking your Message to Washington Without Leaving Your Local Health Department." The video examines strong and weak messages and discusses the difference between advocacy and lobbying.

NACCHO also has an advocacy toolkit available to help members as they reach out to lawmakers during the summer recess. The toolkit includes information about how to communicate with Members of Congress, as well as sample talking points and a factsheet template you can customize with information about your health department.
