Position: Public Health Sanitarian (Food Safety Program)
Pay Status: Full Time

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be a Registered Sanitarian, Sanitarian-in-Training or Sanitarian-in Training eligible. Applicants must have a minimum of bachelor’s degree with at least 45 quarter or 30 semester hours in science and math courses acceptable by the State Board of Sanitarian Registration. Successful candidate would determine compliance with and enforce environmental health laws and rules for Food Service Operations, Retail Food Establishments, campgrounds, and other environmental programs as needed. Must write detailed reports of environmental health and sanitation inspections. Applicants will be responsible for conducting program requirements. Candidate must also have a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Summary of Essential Duties

Under direct supervision, performs environmental health inspections, enforcement and educational activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of environmental health principles and practices. Knowledge of agency policies and procedures*. Knowledge of state and local environmental health laws and regulations. Ability to read, comprehend and apply technical material. Knowledge of basic math, general sciences, biology and chemistry. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to plan, organize and implement programs and projects.
