ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SANITARIAN

Marion Public Health is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Full Time Environmental Health RS or SIT.  Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with at least 45 quarter or 30 semester hours in science courses acceptable by the ODH Sanitarian Registration. SIT Candidates must show proof of graduation and application to the ODH Sanitarian Registration. Candidates must hold a valid Ohio Drivers license. The successful candidate will work in many if not all of the health district’s environmental health programs as a generalist.  

Duties may include, but are not limited to inspection and consultation in the areas of: food protection, private water systems, household sewage disposal, public swimming pools and spas, nuisances, mobile home parks, campgrounds, rabies, schools, and solid waste. 

Starting salary will depend on qualifications with excellent benefits package available including medical, dental, and vision insurance, PERS, paid holidays, personal days, paid sick leave, paid credentials and memberships, and uniform provided. Department vehicle is available for job use.
